IAIA 2010 Affiliates Forum
Dear colleagues,
As you may know, at
the last IAIA Conference, in Accra, the program
included a special session dedicated to the
activities of the Affiliates, Branches and
Associated Organizations. The session, called the
“Affiliates Forum”, was open to all conference
participants, scheduled as a concurrent session and
replaced the traditional Affiliates Committee
meeting. The session was well attended and the
participants appreciated the opportunity of sharing and
discussing their experiences.
For the next conference, in
Geneva, we considered it to be important to focus the
presentations and the discussion. I propose a debate with very
short presentations on the following issue:
“The
potential role of IAIA Affiliates and Branches in professional
certification and promoting professional codes of conduct”
The schedule of the IAIA10 Affiliates Forum will be
announced as soon as possible.
Each IAIA Affiliate,
Branch or Associated Organization is invited to participate and
make a presentation at that session. This presentation is not
subject to the abstract submission procedure, but should be
confirmed by mail (jen@iaia.org and
julio.jesus@netcabo.pt)
until February, 27th.
Furthermore, the Board also decided
to organize a separate poster exhibition dedicated to
Affiliates/Branches activities. Each Affiliate and Branch is
invited to present a poster (in English) and a second poster in
their own language (if applicable) on their organization and
activities, without the need of submitting an abstract. The
presentation of the posters should also be confirmed by mail
(jen@iaia.org
and julio.jesus@netcabo.pt) until February, 27th.
The
posters should follow the general rules for poster presentation
(see Preliminary Program, page 15 and IAIA website).
Please feel free to contact me
(julio.jesus@netcabo.pt) or IAIA
CEO, Rita Hamm (rita@iaia.org), or IAIA meetings specialist at
IAIA-Headquarters, Jennifer Howell
(jen@iaia.org), if you need
any additional information.
I look forward to hear from
you and expect to meet you at Geneva, next April!
Best
regards,
Julio de Jesus
IAIA Director
